Sometimes you just want to escape the chaos of everyday Life…
This series “What the Water Gave Me” was born out of that need, even though my mind agreed, my gut hesitated. While painting in nature, surrounded by water, I eventually found peace and renewal. The water was both calming and refreshing, helping me clear my head and follow my intuition. The series was unplanned, but the situation gifted it to me. This experience reminded me once again how important it is to let go and trust in intuition.
Water flows effortlessly, and just like that, our intuition guides us to what we truly need.
In Feng Shui, water represents wealth, abundance, and flowing energy.
A series of paintings featuring water motifs can bring these energies into the home, supporting the flow of prosperity and harmony. Water motifs promote balance and calm, contributing to a positive living environment. The presence of water images helps to dissolve stagnant energies and enhance the equilibrium of the space, leading to greater joy and serenity overall.

A series of paintings with water as the central motif can capture these qualities visually and bring them into the space. The effect of such artwork in a home is calming and harmonizing.
Water motifs create a relaxed atmosphere, enhance focus, and provide a visual retreat. They bring the essence of nature indoors and can help establish a balance between dynamism and serenity. Water motifs in the environment are inspiring and contribute to emotional equilibrium.
Behind the scenes
That was
truly unexpected …
The last few days in the studio were so hot that I could hardly concentrate, feeling stressed and almost paralyzed. Leaving the studio was difficult, but then the opportunity arose to work on a boat and on a SUP. The proximity to water was an absolute game changer. I was on the water, in the water, surrounded by water, and really got into the flow.
It was adventurous to work on the boat in the sun and wind because things were constantly going wrong. Paper flew away, the painting got smeared, pens fell into the water, the boat got dirty… Normally, I would have been frustrated by such obstacles.
But the water had a calming effect on me—no matter what happened, it brought me joy. Painting, despite the obstacles, became a flow, a meditative experience.
The series wasn’t originally planned, but the situation gifted it to me, and I’m so grateful for this experience. This time by the water showed me how important it is to let go and surrender to the flow of life.
In the end, it’s often the unexpected turns that help us grow. What initially seems like an obstacle can lead us to the deepest and most beautiful forms of transformation.
Best Wishes, AnnA
