Element WATER / Autumn 2021

Does the autumn time flow like water? 

Water is a journey. 

It has the power to transform and it naturally occurs in three physical states. 

At first water is solid on the ground, the heat comes and it goes to the atmosphere. It cools down, comes back and flows as liquid. Then it moves its next circle. 

When we trust the process, we flow.

Developing an idea is a journey.

At the beginning you feel excited, but you are as solid as ice. You may not know how to walk first, you may not know your way, but you will get there. Excitement about the future makes you feel you like melting. Once you put it into practice, it’s like going in the atmosphere. You gain distance and feel the lightness for the rest of the journey. Sometimes you have to let things go, so there is space for the new things to come. If you focus on the process rather than on the goal, you can get yourself into motion and move forward. You will always find the way … like water. 

Creating the series “Autumn/element Water” was a journey. 

At the beginning I was very stable and my first painting didn’t  reflect how water really is. It was opaque and stiff. Sometimes it is even difficult to start. 

Water is unique: it represents the transition between this world and the other. The act of painting is like switching to another dimension. 

You never know how it will turn out and how long it will take. Whatever this unknown dimension has before you, trust that everything is coming together. The right process brings the right results.
